Victory Corps

Welcome to the Victory Corps, formerly known as group volunteers, at the annual D-Day
Conneaut reenactment. The event dates this year are 13 August 2026 to 15 August 2026.
What is the Victory Corps? The name is based on a WWII program used in schools around the
country to educate students about the wartime effort and potentially prepare youth for service.
At D-Day Conneaut, the purpose of the Victory Corps is to provide groups with a semi-guided
educational experience at the reenactment, focusing on the history, veterans, and education
rather than attending the event in a volunteer capacity during the reenactment days. With this
change, we hope to create an even more positive experience for groups who attend allowing
them to experience the reenactment as well as reducing confusion between separate individual
volunteers and our group attendees.
What about volunteering? We absolutely still need volunteers, however, we need these
volunteers in the days before and after the event to help with set-up and tear down. We highly
encourage attendees to pick as many days as possible to volunteer to make the event a
success- with the added benefit of free time and experiencing the event itself without any side
tasks.
So, what days does D-Day need volunteers? Tuesday 11 August 2026, Wednesday 12 August
2026, and Sunday 16 August 2026.
What about all the “perks” for volunteering that we enjoyed in the past? Camping will still be
provided for attendees at the Lakeview Park campsite for free for any day of attendance. Lunch
will be provided every day. Higgins Boat rides will still be available on Thursday (weather
permitting). Groups who volunteer at least one day in addition to attending the reenactment will
receive a D-Day patch for each member.
How do I apply? This form: https://forms.gle/2oohExUiCxRHHCsf8
Why does this form say “Application” and not “Registration”? Due to overwhelming group
attendance numbers, we have made the difficult decision to limit attendance to approximately
200 participants. This will allow our campsite to remain manageable and in accordance with
Health Department regulations (we are inspected and follow all local and state guidelines for
temporary campgrounds) as well as allow for a more individualized program for groups who do
attend. We hope to introduce scheduled time with veterans and a dedicated seating area at the
Normandy Invasion battle, and these things will not be possible without limiting attendance. If
your group is not selected to attend as part of the Victory Corps this year, please do not let that
discourage you from attending D-Day Conneaut as spectators by obtaining free tickets (which
typically release on 6 June).
Applications will close on 1 May 2026, with selections being notified shortly thereafter.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Emma at
[email protected] at any time.
Thanks so much, and we look forward to receiving your group’s application!
